The first thing which a philosopher should attend to is the care of his soul, for it is the ruling part. The second is the care of the body, as a servant of the soul.

Take care not to be Caesarified, or dyed with purple; for it does happen. Keep thyself then simple, good, pure, serious, free from affectation.
